History

Buzz Waltz started his modeling career at the age of 13, at first flying control line and then single channel radio controlled models.

Redesigning many of the models he built in the late 1960's while flying sailplane contests a friend Joe Birdy (Birdy Hobby Enterprises) asked him to help with a small glider design of which later in the 1970's , Joe Birdy kitted 1000's of the Soar Birdy Kit.

In 1977 Buzz Waltz designed the 100" sailplane called the Big Birdy.  Again Birdy Hobbies kitted several thousand and it was a constant winner in England, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.A.!
